Umrah visa from Pakistan: how it works

The Umrah visa is an electronic visa Saudi Arabia issues to pilgrims. Here is how it works for travellers from Pakistan, based on the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's FAQ. Rules change, so confirm the details with your agency before you pay.

Two ways to get it

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah lists two routes: plan the trip yourself on an approved electronic platform such as Nusuk, or go through an authorised agent in your own country.

An agent outside Saudi Arabia cannot issue the visa without a service package that includes accommodation and transport. That is why Pakistani agencies sell Umrah as a package with the visa, hotels and transport together.

Umrah visas fall under Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so questions about a rejected visa go to that ministry.

Validity and length of stay

You must enter Saudi Arabia within three months of the visa being issued, and you can stay up to 90 days. The visa cannot be extended beyond 90 days, or into the Hajj season.

During your stay you can travel between Makkah, Madinah and other cities in the Kingdom, and enter or leave through any international airport. You can get an Umrah visa more than once a year.

Who can go

Women can travel for Umrah without a mahram, according to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

After the visa: Nusuk permits

The visa lets you into the country; performing Umrah in Masjid al-Haram also needs a permit, booked in the Nusuk app. Only one permit can be active at a time, and permits are checked in the Tawakkalna and Nusuk apps.
