Visa
The Umrah visa is electronic. From Pakistan it comes with your package: Saudi rules say an agent outside the Kingdom cannot issue an Umrah visa without accommodation and transport. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah estimates the visa fee at 300 Saudi riyals.
You have to enter Saudi Arabia within three months of the visa being issued, and you can stay up to 90 days. Keep your passport, a printed copy of the visa and your return ticket together.
Vaccines
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah lists the quadrivalent meningococcal (ACYW) vaccine, taken at least 10 days before you arrive, and recommends the seasonal flu vaccine.
Saudi Arabia also requires polio vaccination for Umrah pilgrims from Pakistan. Polio drops can be given at any health facility, but only a District Health Officer can update your record in NADRA, so leave time for it.
Nusuk permits
Performing Umrah in Masjid al-Haram and praying in the Rawdah at the Prophet's Mosque each need a permit, booked in the Nusuk or Tawakkalna app. You can register in Nusuk from Pakistan once you have the visa, using your passport and visa number; a Saudi phone number is not needed.
Only one Umrah permit can be active at a time, and entry for Umrah is tied to the permit time. Prayer in the Haram does not need a permit.
What to pack
Ihram (two white unstitched sheets) for men, comfortable footwear for long walks on marble, your medicines with their prescriptions, copies of your passport and visa, and a phone with Nusuk installed and your login working before you fly.
What to ask the agency
Before you pay, check the package for the hotels in Makkah and Madinah and their distance from the Haram, the nights in each city, the airline and arrival city, whether the visa and transport are included, and the agency's refund policy.
